Lambton College’s Mike Lucier has capped an outstanding collegiate basketball career with a pro contract in Germany.
The Lion’s all-time leading scorer led Lambton to its first medal in 24 years, and was named defensive player of the year in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association and a Western Division all-star.
The 6’7” forward was a five-year starter and retired 7th all-time in Ontario college basketball points.
“When you look back at where our basketball program started, and where we are now, you see Mike’s mark on all of it,” said Lion’s head coach James Grant.
“He’s a great player and a great person. He works extremely hard on and off the court, and he definitely deserves this opportunity. We’re all very proud of him.”
The Forest native leaves Aug. 15 to play for the Dragons Rhoendort, a pro club based in Bad Honnef, Germany.
