Your work belongs here.
If you’re from Sarnia–Lambton, or your work is about this place, we want to help you share it.
Share your work or an ideaLet’s find a place for your work.
Writers, photographers, interviewers, filmmakers, podcasters and other creators all have a place here. Whether this is your first contribution or you’ve been making things for years, we’d like to hear from you.
You can be a local creator exploring a subject beyond the region, or someone from elsewhere telling a story about Sarnia and Lambton County. Tell us about your connection.
Many ways to tell a story
Share reporting, essays, opinion, photographs, interviews, video, audio, cartoons or other creative work. A photo essay, a conversation with a neighbour, a local history project or a new series can all begin here.
Send a finished piece, something in progress, or an idea you’d like help developing. You don’t need credentials, a following or a polished pitch.
Start with what you have.
- Share your work or idea. Paste text, attach photographs or documents, or send a link to video, audio or larger files.
- Tell us a little about it. Include your connection to Sarnia–Lambton and how you’d like to be credited. For photographs and interviews, add names, dates and locations where useful.
- We review it together. We look at accuracy, clarity, permissions and how best to present the work. We’ll discuss substantive changes with you before publication.
An open invitation, with care for the work.
We want to make room for local voices and creators. Submissions are reviewed before publication, and we may ask for more information or suggest a different approach. Reporting, opinion and creative work are presented clearly so readers understand what they’re reading.
Submit work you made or have permission to share, and tell us if it has appeared elsewhere. You retain ownership of your work. We agree on permission to publish it, how you’ll be credited and any substantial edits before publication.
Payment and voluntary contributions
Paid commissions and voluntary community submissions are different arrangements. For paid commissioned work, we agree the fee, scope and terms before work begins. Letters, photographs and other community contributions may be shared voluntarily; sending work does not automatically create a paid commission.
We will make clear which arrangement applies before commissioning work or agreeing to publish it. You are welcome to ask about payment when sharing an idea. Contributing does not automatically make someone an owner or a member of the editorial collective.
One contribution or an ongoing collaboration.
Have one photograph to share? An interview you’ve already recorded? A column or series you’d like to develop? Start with the same form.
