Pair face charges after St. Clair Parkway traffic stop

A man and woman from St. Clair Township each face charges following a traffic stop on St. Clair Parkway, early Monday.

Lambton OPP say officers spotted a vehicle without its rear lights on, around 2:10 a.m.

“A traffic stop was conducted, and officers confirmed the lighting on the vehicle was operational,” a news release noted. “The driver was identified as a prohibited driver and was placed under arrest.

"After a search resulted in suspected methamphetamine, the passenger in the vehicle was also taken into custody.”

A 36-year-old woman and 26-year-old man each face a charge of ‘possession of a schedule 1 substance’ while the woman also faces a charge of driving while prohibited under the Criminal Code.

The accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice - Sarnia at a later date.
