Carol passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the age of 77. Dear mother of Janet (Gary Elliott), Brad Dunn (Julie), Michal Dunn (Lisa), Doug Dunn (Jocelyn Tremain), and Susan Dunn (Billy Hemstreet). Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Douglas and Eleanor Devine, brother Larry Devine and grandson Zackary Dunn.
Born and raised in Sarnia, Carol was a proud graduate and cheerleader at St. Patrick’s High School. She developed a deep love of travel, with cherished adventures that took her across the Mediterranean, Europe, the Caribbean, and Alaska. A quiet yet devoted hockey fan, she faithfully cheered on her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.
Carol was a strong, independent woman who lived a life rooted in service. A dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League, she was deeply committed to her church and gave generously of her time through community volunteering with organizations like VON, Angel Care Home Visits, and the Red Cross. She had a special gift for caring—brightening the lives of others simply by being present.
But above all, Carol’s greatest devotion was to her family. She was the heart of her home, a constant and loving presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her door was always open—not only to them but to their extended families and friends. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Bluewater Health, CarePartners, and Dr. Crombeen and her team for their compassion and dedicated care.
