Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on October 27, 2026, at Bluewater Health, Ennio Magnante passed away at the age of 89.

Beloved husband of Clementina Ventre. Loving father of Giovanni “John” and Dino Magnante (Shelley Best); and stepfather of Luca (Rachel) Ventre, Paola (Frank) Rubino, and the late Ida Ventre. Treasured Nonno of Sarah (Ben) Thompson, Andrea Magnante (Kody Ryan), Gabrielle Magnante (Josh Buxton), Nicolas (Magdalena) Magnante, Adam (Tiana) Magnante, Isabel Magnante, Olivia Ventre, Josh Ventre, Massimo Rubino, and Marcello Rubino. Cherished Bisnonno of Hayden, Harper, Kolt, and Kash. Dear brother of Silvana Magnante. Predeceased by his wife Ines (2007), parents, and siblings.

Ennio worked in construction and was a member of Local 1089. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, making wine, and playing cards with his friends at the Dante Club. Ennio will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with prayers being offered at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 390 Christina Street N., Sarnia, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Sarnia.
