Stop signs at rail crossing will be permanent
Temporary stop signs the city erected at the St. Andrew rail crossing will become permanent.
Temporary stop signs the city erected at the St. Andrew rail crossing will become permanent.
Transport Canada says the signs are needed to improve safety because visibility at the crossing is limited by nearby buildings, and city council agreed last week.
Some local motorists cried foul in February after CN Police began issuing tickets for driving through the new stop signs.
Enforcement was replaced with warnings following the complaints, but it will resume once permanent stops signs on both sides of the road are in place, city officials said.
