Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Niagara Falls General Hospital at the age of 86.
Ella will be missed by her husband of 12 years, George Dauphney, her brothers Bob (Bonnie) and Terry (Lynda), and sister Grace; her children Pam, David (Ally), and Duane; step-children Sherri-Lynn and Darrell; grandchildren Brittany, Brent, Liam and Oliver; her three great-grandchildren; as well as her nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Ella Estelle and Harvey Lumley, her brother Tom and Donnie and sisters Marion and Marjorie.

Ella was born on November 13, 1937 in the Lambton, Ontario area and grew up with her seven siblings. She always had humorous stories of growing up with her brothers and sisters on the farm. Ella loved being close to her family and after living in Alberta for many years, she returned to Ontario in 2008 and was able to be close to her siblings once more and have get-togethers and reminisce about the old days on the farm.

In 2011 Ella and George got married. Ella loved spending time with George in the Summers in Nova Scotia. At home in Fonthill, Ella enjoyed being with George; going to Masonic and Shriners dinners, going to church, or just watching a hockey game at home together. In her spare time, Ella enjoyed writing letters to her many pen pals, some she had been writing for close to 50 years. As well, she liked to go through old photos and make up photo albums.

The family would like to thank the Niagara Falls General Hospital staff for their kind and compassionate care.

Family and friends will be received at the Fonthill United Church, 42 Church Hill, Fonthill, on Sunday, February 11th from 12 noon – 1:00 pm with the memorial service beginning at 1:00 pm. The service may also be viewed via live stream by going to the Pelham Funeral Home’s Facebook page
at 1:00 pm.

Interment will take place May 8 at Moore Union Cemetery in Mooretown, Lambton County, where Ella will be laid to rest with her parents and sister Marjorie. A graveside service is set for 1 p.m. Following that, friends and family are invited to gather together to celebrate Ella's life at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 447 in Corunna from 2 to 5 p.m.

As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Fonthill United Church.
