Give-a-Book campaign returns Nov. 1 for Lambton County children

Literacy Lambton is collecting new, unwrapped books through Dec. 20, with three Sarnia drop-off locations and an online option to help fill gaps by age group.

Literacy Lambton’s annual Give-a-Book campaign will collect new, unwrapped books for babies, children and teens across Lambton County from Nov. 1 to Dec. 20.

The organization says last year’s campaign brought in 4,800 new books distributed through 42 frontline community partners. This year, it hopes to build on that total and put books into children’s hands for the holidays.

Donations can be dropped off at Literacy Lambton in the Lochiel Kiwanis Community Centre, 180 College Ave. N.; Coles at Lambton Mall; or The Book Keeper in Northgate Plaza.

According to the campaign advisory, The Book Keeper is offering a 20 per cent discount on books purchased for donation.

People who prefer to contribute money can donate $20 or more through Literacy Lambton’s website. The organization says those contributions help purchase books for age groups where donations fall short.
