As of 8 a.m. today, all individuals aged 70 and over in Sarnia-Lambton can book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment at a mass immunization clinic through the provincial online book system, the Ontario government says.
Lambton is one of 11 additional public health units now eligible, following an expansion in Toronto that began Saturday.
Residents aged 70 and older can schedule a vaccine appointment by visiting Ontario.ca/bookvaccine, or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Information Line number at 1-888-999-6488.
The Provincial Vaccine Information Line is open Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Over one-third of Ontario residents aged 75 to 79 have now received their first shot, the province said.
Vaccine administration rates differ from health unit to health unit, based on vaccine supply.
The rollout and timing has been further impacted by the latest delay in shipment of the Moderna vaccine. It was initially planned for March 30 but is now delayed until April 7, the province said.
