January 26, 1957 – October 24, 2026
25,473 days of a life lived
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Frederick “Wayne” Lamb on October 24, 2026. Wayne was the beloved husband of Judy Lamb and a devoted father to his daughters, Brianne Foster and Courtney Lamb, son-in-law Steve Foster, and Joe Mclean. He was an incredibly proud and loving grandfather to Casyn(Avery), Macey, Kendyl, and Dash, who brought tremendous joy to his life.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Fred & Evelyn Lamb; his sister, Karen; his sister-in-law, Barb; and his brothers-in-law, Phil and Nelson. He is survived by his brothers, Larry, Jeff (Dee), Brian (Natasha) and sister Cindy; his brother-in-law, Howard; and his sisters-in-law, Chrissy (Bob), Cathy, Marion, as well as many extended friends and nieces and nephews.
Sports were always an important part of Wayne’s life. For many years, he found great enjoyment in coaching and sharing his love of the game with others. When his grandchildren came along, Wayne happily traded his place behind the bench for a seat in the stands. Being their spectator, supporter, and biggest fan became one of his greatest pleasures. Those times at the rink became treasured moments for Wayne and wonderful memories for his family.
In his later years, Wayne lived with dementia, a difficult journey that changed many things but could never diminish the love his family had for him or the place he held in their hearts. Wayne spent his final years at Trillium Villa Nursing Home, and his family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful nurses and support staff who cared for him. Their kindness, patience, compassion, and dedication provided comfort to Wayne and his family throughout those years, and their care will always be deeply appreciated.
Wayne passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family who loved him so deeply. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, a coach, a sports fan, and above all, a man whose greatest pride was his family.
Though dementia may have taken pieces of Wayne along the way, it could never take away the love that surrounded him, nor the memories his family will carry with them forever.
A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held on Monday, November 16, 2026, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Point Edward Community Hall (210 Monk St, Point Edward).
Rest peacefully, Wayne. You were deeply loved, and you will be forever missed.
