Surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Daniel Murray Douglas passed away peacefully at the age of 70. Loving husband and best friend of LeeAnne O’Connor for 45 years.

Dear brother of Beth Clime, Cathy Britton, Heather Douglas (Trevor), Darcy (Sherry) Douglas, and Joy (Pete) Vokes. Cherished brother in-law of Brenda O’Connor and Donald Hopkins, Susan (Brian) Wilkins, and Sandra (Paul) Purves. Treasured Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Donald and Jean Douglas and in-laws Harry and Joyce O’Connor.

Daniel dedicated 43 years to his career at Dupont and Nova Chemicals. In retirement, he loved nothing more than wintering in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with the love of his life. An avid sports and games enthusiast, Daniel enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing Tuesday night trivia. He was a hockey fan through and through, always cheering for the Detroit Red Wings and his hometown Sarnia Sting. Above all, Daniel had the absolute best sense of humor and truly loved pulling a good prank.

Our family extends our deepest gratitude to all of our relatives, friends, and neighbours. We also want to thank Dr. Borek, Dr. Lilly, Dr. Yoshida, Dr. Kim, and Dr. Crombeen, as well as the exceptional staff at the Cancer Clinic, 5th-floor palliative care, the Emergency Department, and St. Joseph’s Hospice for their compassionate care.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Dan’s life will be held at the Point Edward Optimist Hall, 210 Monk Street, Point Edward, on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with words of tribute being held at 2:00 p.m.
