A special service will be held April 19 in Point Edward to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Village’s war Cenotaph.
A short service starting at 5 p.m. will include the laying of memorial wreaths, with local dignitaries sharing statements and laying a wreath.
The Cenotaph on St. Clair Street, near the Point Edward Community Arena, was dedicated on April 18, 1922 to honour residents lost during the First World War. Since then, other war monuments have been added.
The anniversary service is hosted by the village and Point Edward Ex-Servicemen’s Association.
