Sarnians can get an early jump on the holiday season when the International Symphony Orchestra presents it annual Christmas celebration, A Child is Born.
The Dec. 5 show at Bethel Church features acclaimed Canadian soprano and Petrolia native Erica Warder, who will join the symphony and the symphony singers under the baton of Maestro Douglas Bianchi.
Musical selections will include choruses from Handel’s The Messiah, excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet Suite, Alfred Reed’s Russian Christmas Music and Pie Jesu from Andrew Lloyd Webbers’ Requiem.
Warder, who didn’t begin voice training until age 16, attended LCCVI, Queen’s University, and the Glenn Gould School of Music while embarking on a singing career.
She has performed in operas in Italy and many Canadian cities and currently lives, performs and studies in Toronto.
The Dec. 5 show begins at Bethel Church, 1565 London Rd. at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $30 adults, $28 seniors, $8 students, and children 14 and under free when accompanied by an adult.
