About 200 people attended a candlelight vigil Nov. 2 at the Sarnia Tennis Club to honour the memory Justin Bourassa.

The 29-year-old Sarnia man, who died Oct. 28, was a popular head pro at the club and competitive player who appeared often in The Journal after winning tennis tournaments.

As a coach, he took special interest in teaching junior players and was an instructor with the Tennis For Kids Sarnia program.

Bourassa was also a registered massage therapist who excelled at cycling and long-distance running.

“He will be best remembered for his kindness to those less privileged, his gentleness, his humour and his joie de vivre,” his obituary read.

Bourassa was fatally shot by London Police during an encounter in London now being probed by Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit.
