Health officials have identified no new cases of COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton for a third straight day today.
The unchanged totals stand at 270 cases and 25 deaths, Lambton Public Health said this morning.
Likewise, a seven-week struggle to contain a deadly outbreak at Sarnia’s Vision Nursing Home looked a bit brighter today, with no new cases reported since Monday.
Some 233 people have recovered from the novel coronavirus locally, up four from Tuesday, and 8,474 test results have been received, 3.2% of them positive.
Meanwhile, Ontario has confirmed emergency childcare will come to an end on June 26, and all licensed child-care centres will be allowed to reopen.

On Friday, the limit on social gatherings will increase from five to ten people in all parts of the province.
As well, places of worship in Sarnia-Lambton will be permitted to open, provided physical distancing is in place and attendance is limited to no more than 30% of the building capacity.
But Sarnia-Lambton was not included in Ontario’s decision to reopen more of the province’s economy starting Friday.
Given the county’s success at meeting key indicators in recent weeks, local health and political leaders said they are perplexed by the exclusion and seeking an explanation from the province.
