The roof that protects the main ice surface at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena is being replaced this year at a cost of just over $1 million.
Sarnia council approved a proposal submitted by Garland/DBS Canada Inc., with the work to be done by Flynn Canada Ltd.
Last year, the section of roof over the restaurant and luxury suites was replaced at a cost of $500,000.
Two more phases are needed to complete the roof replacement work at PASA, proposed as part of the 2023 and 2024 capital project list.
The roof at the home of the Sarnia Sting hockey club began leaking in 2019.
