The inaugural Dinner in White Bluewater brought a touch of elegance to Sarnia’s waterfront last week.

About 180 diners got together to break bread and sip wine to the sounds of live jazz on the terrace at First Sarnia Place.

And, yes, they really did all wear white.

Dinner in White originated in Paris 25 years ago and is now held annually in 40 cities around the world.

The dinners take place rain or shine, and shoes and umbrellas are the only items exempt from the colour rule.

Tickets to the July10 event were $50 a pair, and diners brought their their own linen napkins, china, silverware and centrepieces.

The dinner was organized by a quartet of city women - Kelly-Lynn Musico, Tracy Jutras, Marinka Modderman and Wendy Ghorbril - who hope it will become a self-sustaining special event for years to come.
