The Sarnia Sting have announced the club’s inaugural School Day Game, opening the doors at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena to local students in Grades 3-6 for a special event Nov. 7.

"Progressive Auto Sales is excited to partner with the Sarnia Sting on the Confident Kids Program as well as the School Day game,” said Progressive Auto Group owner Dan Whitton. “As an organization, our goal is to have a positive impact on our community, so it’s nice to be able to support the Sting who share the same goal.”

Elementary school children in grades 3-6 from both the St. Clair Catholic and Lambton-Kent District School Boards are invited to the Progressive Auto Sales Arena for the special, community focused game.

“The School Day Game is an opportunity for children in the Sarnia-Lambton area to come together in community spirit to support their hometown team in a unique experiential learning environment,” a news release stated. “The game day will include special learning opportunities integrated leading up to the game, throughout the in-game experience and in-class following the game."

Along with the School Day Game, the Sting and Progressive Auto Group announced a formal partnership that provides students the opportunity to “engage, interact and learn with the Sting both in the classroom and at the rink through the Sting Confident Kids Program,” the club added. The program is free of charge and open to youth groups aged 4-14.

Youth groups, schools, classrooms, and non-profits are encouraged to apply to take part.  Up to 30 spots are available and membership includes:

  • Anthem Opportunity;
  • School Visit from the Sting;
  • Season Tickets
  • Suite Experience Raffle
