The Sarnia Jr. Sting U12AA team took home the championship title at the Buffalo Thanksgiving Winter Classic this past weekend, playing on the outdoor rinks at the Buffalo RiverWorks complex.

The team won two games and tied one in the round-robin, placing themselves second overall and advancing to the finals. They faced the Long Island Gulls in the finals, winning 5-1 to take home the gold cup.

The team had to overcome playing against opponents a year older, as they were placed in a higher division. The coaching staff are very proud of all the players and how they conducted themselves on and off the ice, emphasizing on respect and hard effort.

The U12AA team has been in three tournaments so far, placing second place in the first tournament in Burlington, winning the Silver Stick Regional tournament in Woodstock, and again taking home first place in Buffalo.

Sarnia Jr. Sting U12AA is back on the ice this weekend taking on Woodstock Jr. Navy Vets in Woodstock, and at home on Sunday facing St. Thomas Jr. Stars at 2:30pm at Clearwater Blue. Come join them and cheer them on!
