“We had approximately 140 skaters participating, representing skills from beginner all the way to our senior competitive ladies, five of whom had most recently qualified for the Ontario Provincial Championships,” said skating club president Amanda Knight. “We had lights, costumes, a fantastic soundtrack and most importantly sold out crowds on Saturday and Sunday.”
The show, themed, “Fun & Games” also featured a special performance from Point Edward Skating Club alum Michael Marinaro, and his pairs skating partner Kirsten Moore-Towers.
“They brought the house down,” Knight said of the 2022, 2018 Olympic competitors and three-time Canadian champions. “Michael's presence is such an important one… and it shows our current skaters what hard work can do.
“Kirsten is always so lovely and takes time to connect with our skaters, she has become an honourary member.”
