The Sarnia Lady Sting U11 ‘BB’ team won bronze at the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA) Provincial Championships over the weekend.

The team opened the tournament with a tie-game vs. the Flamborough Flames, followed by a 3-2 win over Toronto Leaside, finishing the group play with a 2-1 loss to the eventual gold medal winners, the Orangeville Tigers.

Next up was a quarterfinal 2-1 win over the Haldimand Rivercats, which set up a semi-final with the London Devilettes, ending in a 2-0 loss.

That led the girls to the bronze medal game against the Bluewater Hawks, and a 2-1 victory for the Sarnia Lady Sting, who also brought home gold from the Barrie Sharkfest Tournament in November.

The coaching staff includes: Kyle Doyle, along with Brent Campbell, Kevin Philipsen, Matt Simard, Doug Laird, Andrea Williamson, Lisa Desantis, Colin Davison and Lynsey Philipsen.
