Colts victorious in SWOSSA wrestling

St. Clair Secondary edged Windsor-Sandwich, 36-33 to win the boys crown at the recent SWOSSA wrestling championships at St. Patrick’s. The Colts were led by Adam Vanderslagt and Elijah Wright who won their respective weight classes.

Other SWOSSA boys champions were Nathan McMillan of St-Francois Xavier, Cole Anderson of SCITS and Nathan Moro of St. Pat's.

Meanwhile, on the girls side, the Colts were third overall, led by Tali Allen and Lauren Ellenor, who both won their weight classes along with Erin Cromwell of St. Pat's and Taryn Robinson of SCITS.

Nathan Moro and Tali Allen were chosen as the boys and girls outstanding wrestlers from Lambton in the all-day competition, which featured 20 boys and 18 girls and teams from schools throughout Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex.

Several local wrestlers will take part this week at the provincial event in Windsor.
