LETTER: Lambton bureaucrats must use their power to help the homeless

Letters to the editor

Dear Editor:

In response to the article “24 new affordable housing units were promised in 2022. Why aren’t they built yet?” I want to express my outrage which has built to a point where I have to wonder if the powers that be both in city Council and Lambton County Housing even want to help.

It seems that every project to help our most vulnerable citizens is delayed for any number of reasons and excuses. Is there not one bureaucrat who truly wants to make a difference — just one — who still believes in a minimum quality of life for the people who live in this county?

Do they not drive the same streets I do and see the homeless?

I challenge one to make the decision to do ALL that you can —  use your power to help others. This can be done and has happened in other cities where people truly believe in the value of human life and the right to a safe, secure place to sleep at the minimum.
