Dear Editor:

As a frequent walker, I find it disturbing that homeowners do not prune their trees on their property and the boulevards.

I am being hit in the face by the low limbs and in some cases the low branches hang into the street.

I saw city workers out rectifying a few areas in the city but it would be far easier if the homeowner just got out a pair of loppers and fixed the problem.

Why do my taxes have to pay for delinquent homeowners?

The only time I should see a city/hydro worker is if power lines are involved.

Make sure you are doing your part to maintain your property.

If city hall maintenance is asked to come out for a tree situation that is clearly a result of owner neglect, then the homeowner should receive the bill.
