At St. Joseph’s Hospice on May 14, 2024, Ian Jakobs, age 62 passed away after a 5 year courageous battle with cancer. Ian had a 36 year career as a Process Operator with Imperial Oil Sarnia. Beloved husband of Stacey Jakobs (nee Millier), loving father of David Jakobs and stepfather of Justin Grove. Lovingly remembered by his mother, Pamela Jakobs (her “Baby Boy”) and sister Lee Wilson. Adored son in law of Robert and Virginia Millier. He will be deeply missed by sister in laws Kari Harris (Chris) and Michelle Millier. Predeceased by his father David Jakobs. Ian had a sense of humour that was second to none. He enjoyed travelling, sunsets, and walking on the beach with his wife Stacey, searching for treasures. Ian loved all animals and creatures, especially his beloved dog Abbey, who he is now reunited with. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at Smith funeral home, 1576 London line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Sarnia Humane Society or St. Joseph’s Hospice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
