LETTER: It's going to be a 'tough summer' if Sarnia doesn't have a plan for homelessness issue

A homeless encampment at Sarnia's Rainbow Park is rapidly increasing in size.

Dear Editor:

Re: City lawyer cautions council: Encampment removal would breach Charter

After reading your article on the report from the City's on-staff lawyer, I wondered if she had become aware of any city in Ontario that had come up with a successful plan to deal with its homeless population.

She has certainly found municipalities that are stymied by it, but are there any municipalities that have successfully dealt with their situation?

It is my feeling that unless we come up with a way to make that happen, this is going to be a tough summer.
