A public meeting will be held Oct. 13 to consider a six-home subdivision proposed for a 3.3-acre woodland the city has identified in its Official Plan as needing protection. A site visit of the property at 834 Lakeshore Rd. begins at 10 a.m.

A public meeting will be held Oct. 13 to consider a six-home subdivision proposed for a 3.3-acre woodland the city has identified in its Official Plan as needing protection.

A site visit of the property at 834 Lakeshore Rd. begins at 10 a.m. (access from the end of Tudor Close West) followed by an 11 a.m. presentation from B. M. Ross and Associates at St. Giles Church, 770 Lakeshore Rd.

The proposed lot layout and reports will be available for review.

Neighbours have organized a petition, saying the development would destroy a rare urban woodland and override the city’s own environmental protection plan.
