The Sarnia Community Foundation (SCF) announced this week that seven local organizations were successful in securing a portion of $400 million from the federal government’s Community Services Recovery Fund: Community Living, Sarnia-Lambton; the International Symphony Orchestra (ISO); Literacy Lambton; the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 249; The Salvation Army; St Clair Regional Conservation Authority; and Victim Services of Sarnia Lambton.

The xCommunity Services Recovery Fund aims to support charities and non-profits as they focus on how to adapt their organizations for pandemic recovery.

“It is such an exciting day to be able to share the news of the successful applications,” said Mike Barron, executive director at the SCF. “We assisted with the delivery of over $290,000 back into the Sarnia-Lambton Community.”

The Sarnia Community Foundation participated alongside the Canadian Red Cross and United Way.
