The flags flew at half-mast at City Hall last week to honour the passing of one of Sarnia’s most senior administrators.

City engineer and acting city manager André Morin died suddenly and of natural causes on May 9.

Morin, 41, had been with the city since 2004, became the city engineer in 2011, and took on the additional role of acting city manager in January in response to personnel problems involving the mayor and senior administrators.

Morin was also very active in the community as a Big Brother and board member at Huron House Boys Home.

“His death is a tragic loss to all who knew him and for those he had yet to touch,” said CAO Margaret Misek-Evans.

“He will be sorely missed.”
