A 46-year-old Sarnia man is facing a slew of charges — including possession of drugs and a firearm — after police were flagged about a suspended driver on the in-car-camera system.
Lambton OPP say the incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on May 30 when officers received a notification from their in-car-camera system of a suspended driver on Oil Heritage Road.
“During the traffic stop, officers observed infractions under the Cannabis Control Act, which resulted in a search of the vehicle,” a news release stated. “The driver was arrested, without incident, after quantities of suspected methamphetamine, ecstasy, cannabis, and psilocybin were located along with a prohibited weapon and firearm.”
The accused faces charges of:
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking,
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance,
- Possession of a schedule 3 substance,
- Possession of a prohibited device,
- Failure to comply with release order (two counts),
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of over 30g dried cannabis in a public place and,
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available.
The accused has been held in custody following a bail hearing on May 31.
