Runners and walkers of all levels will take to Sarnia’s Howard Watson/Blackwell Trails for the fourth annual Trail and Ale for Rayjon event on Saturday, Sept. 23.

“The purpose of this event is to challenge yourself while volunteering your time for charity,” race director Erin Gilbert said of the event, which invites participants to a 5K or 10K walk or run. Kids 14 and under can do the 5K walk or 5K run for free, and a virtual option is also available.

Runner registration includes one can of locally brewed beer, (19+); participants will receive an email with instructions about where and how to pick up a race kit and complimentary beer.

Walkers will begin at 10 a.m., with runners to start at 10:30 a.m. heading north on the Howard Watson Trail from Michigan Ave., dipping into Blackwell Trails.

Prizes will be awarded for ‘best finisher celebration,’ best costume, participant from farthest away, best finish times (men and women runners), most fundraising, and more.

Representatives from Maud's Variety will also be on site with music, swag and more.

Participants will have the chance to relax and celebrate post-run, with an after-party at SPORTS, located behind Refined Fool.

Funds raised will help communities in Haiti and the Dominican Republic meet their goals in Education, Health Care & the Empowerment of Women
