CF Industries team members who built a spectacular Star Wars Death Star were the big winners at this year's CANstruction competition at Lambton Mall on the weekend.

More than 52,111 cans and food items were used to build 12 structures with an "Out of this World" theme this year. The food will be transported to the foodbank at The Inn of the Good Shepherd when the display is dismantled March 19.

Winning the award for Most Cans Used was the Carpenters' team who built a giant Rubic's Cube. 

Other winners included Shell's Launch Pad for Best Meal. And Fabien Jagoo, YMCA, Newcomers Youth, Tardis for Rookie Team of the Year, and Junior Outstanding Team. 

The public has a chance to pick winner of The People's Choice Award by making a donation at the structure they like best or by using a QR code displayed at the structure. The team that raises the most donations by March 9 wins, with proceeds going to the Inn.

Kids have a chance for a little extra fun on March 13. On that date, three min tINNys will be among the can structures. Find them and fill out a ballot a the mall's guest services desk for a chance to win a kids' fun basket.
