William “Billy” O’Mahony has been involved in Sarnia Saints rugby club for 42 years and was instrumental in introducing the sport to Sarnia-Lambton high schools.

He developed six programs for boys and girls, and was a driving force in negotiating with community leaders to find a home field for the Sarnia Saints at Norm Perry Park.

Dr. O’Mahony also resurrected the Sarnia Saints women’s team and was the original trophy sponsor for high school competitions.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame at a recent ceremony and dinner in Whitby, Ont.
