Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Sarnia-Lambton with a couple of hot, humid days on the docket, beginning Tuesday.

“A two or three day hot and humid event for most areas are expected to begin on Tuesday,” the alert noted, pointing to maximum temperatures in the high 20s to low 30s, with humidex values reaching the high 30s to low 40s.

“These hot and humid conditions will begin to end from west to east Wednesday night.”

Extreme heat effects everyone, the agency reminds residents.

“Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category.”

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
