More than $11,000 was raised for two local charities as part of an International Women’s Day event held earlier this month.
The Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business, along with the County of Lambton and Famous Five Speaker Series hosted the event at the Sarnia Library, raising some $11,051 to be shared by the Women’s Interval home and Circles Lambton.
The event featured guest speakers Annabelle Rayson (Junior Water Prize Winner and Chair of the Sarnia-Lambton Shoebox Project); Sarnia’s Elizabeth Solitis of Bridges Global; Frances Wright, CEO of Famous Five Foundation in Calgary; and Dr. Tapo Chimbganda, founder of Future Black Female.
