The Point Edward Fire & Rescue Service recently acknowledged some significant milestones within its ranks as two members celebrated 20 years of service and another celebrated 30 years of service to the community.

Lieutenant Doug Booth and Lieutenant Gary Capp (retired) were recognized for their 20 years of service and Lieutenant Brad Law was recognized for his 30 years of service during a recent department meeting, and given their Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal and Certificate presented by Fire Chief Doug MacKenzie.

The Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal honours members of a fire service who have completed 20 years of service, ten years of which have been served in the performance of duties involving potential risks.

Chief MacKenzie congratulated the members and spoke on their commitment and dedication to the community.

“We are grateful for the dedication and professionalism these three firefighters have shown during their careers in the fire service. On behalf of this department, and all the residents of this community that we serve, I’d like to offer my sincere thanks and congratulations on this great achievement.”
