LETTER: Legion thankful for Poppy Campaign support

Letters to the editor

To: Citizens of Sarnia

On behalf of the members and the Executive of Sarnia Legion Br. 62 of The Royal Canadian Legion, we would like to thank the citizens of the City of Sarnia for you continued support of our events held during our 2023 Poppy Campaign.

Again, this year with your financial support of our Poppy Campaign, your participation in our Candlelight Vigil, and your participation and attendance in our Remembrance Day Parade and Service held at Veterans Park, showed that the remembrance of our fallen heroes is just as important to you as it is to us here at the Legion.

The Poppy Campaign and Remembrance Day is vital to our Branch and The Royal Canadian Legion, to ensure that our fallen Veterans are never forgotten and that they will always be remembered.

We also wish to thank the departments of City Hall for their assistance and support of Remembrance Day, Bluewater Power for their continued support of our Veterans Banner Program and all our members and volunteers who participated in our Poppy Campaign events. Without your support and participation, these events would not be possible, and we would struggle to ensure our traditions continue.

Again, we offer each of you a very sincere thank you and we look forward to the 2024 Poppy Campaign and the events.

Yours in Comradeship and appreciation,

Ron Realesmith President, Sarnia Br. 62 The Royal Canadian Legion
