Talk for Tamara and the Sarnia Community Foundation would like to thank everyone who helped with the inaugural Tamara’s Trees of Hope.

The introductory event was extremely successful. The Lambton Mall generously donated space for a display of multiple (theme) generous sponsors decorated Christmas trees with a generous number of gifts under each tree to entice people to the space and to buy raffle tickets for this fundraiser.

The total value of the decorated trees was $8400.00 spread over six trees ranging from $1000.00 to $3000.00 in value. Ticket/raffle sales topped over $12,000. There was a handful of donations as well.

Talk for Tamara intends to make this an annual event, raising awareness during a time of year when mental health care is an integral conversation to have. Proceeds from the event will be used to support local agencies involved in suicide prevention and youth mental health as well as educational courses in mental health and mental wellness in our community.

Lori Lumley is a fund holder with the Sarnia Community Foundation; the fund is called Talk for Tamara (TFT).

Talk For Tamara (TFT) has partnered with Sarnia Community Foundation and is a 100% non-profit legacy charity fund in memory of Tamara Lynn Lumley (April 17th, 2001 - October 25, 2018).
