Noelle Paquette’s love of fitness and her community will be honoured once again this month when the third annual Noelle’s Gift of Fitness takes place at locations across Sarnia.
“Keeping people happy and healthy was so important to her, so this is such a perfect fit,” said Jackie Major-Daamen, who helps organize the event that raises money for Noelle’s Gift, a charitable fund established in honour of the late Sarnia teacher. “We are so humbled to see the support we have received from the community.”
Proceeds to Noelle’s Gift – which has raised some $400,000 to date – are directed to a number of local causes, including local school boards, nutrition programs, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton, and others.
The event takes place May 23 at Ironworks Fitness, Goodlife Fitness, On Edge Fitness, The Studio, Sharkys, and the Bluewater Boxing Club. A 5KM ‘fun run’ known as WeRun will take place at Canatara Park beginning at 9 a.m., as well as a WeKids event at St. Matthew’s school in Sarnia.
More than $160,000 has been raised through Noelle’s Gift of Fitness – the charity’s flagship event – since its inception in 2013.
