If you were involved in a traffic accident in Sarnia last year there’s a good chance it occurred on a Thursday afternoon somewhere on London Road.
Sarnia Police recorded 1,136 collisions involving 2,030 vehicles the first nine months of 2019, which is a rate of more than four a day.
One person was killed and 164 injured. Last year over the same period, four people died in a similar number of collisions and 146 were injured.
Police data indicates more collisions happen on Thursdays than another other day of the week, with the most likely time around 4 p.m.
While most vehicle accidents take place at or near an intersection, parking lots accounted to 280 of the fender-benders.
For the second year in a row, the worst intersections were London Road at Murphy (18 collisions), and London Road at Lambton Mall Road (16).
