A Sarnia hockey referee who was knocked unconscious during a game March 7 is ready to lace ‘em up again.

Two Sarnia-area boys made an impact playing hockey in the U.S. this year. John Chartrand and Joshua Mackenzie, both 9, were members of the Macomb Mustangs, a Squirt Major AA team, which is the equivalent of Atom Major in Ontario.

The Huron Lakers Atom girls’ basketball team won its tournament in St. Clair Shores, Michigan on the weekend of March 8-9.

Sarnia native Shawn Burr was honoured posthumously at a Sarnia Sting game March 13 when a banner was raised in his memory at the RBC Centre.
