The rink skipped by Heath McCormick of the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club made it deep into the playoffs at the USA Curling Nationals in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

McCormick's foursome won three straight games late in the preliminary round to qualify for a page playoff game, which they won 8-5 over Rochester, New York's Brandon Corbett.

But McCormick's four-game win streak came to an end, bowing 4-3 to Craig Brown of Madison, Wisconsin in the semi-finals.

Meantime, two other members of the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club competed on the Debbie McCormick rink on the women's side of the USA Nationals, but Emilia Juocys and Stephanie Sennecker just missed the playoffs, finishing in a tie for fifth place with a record of 4-5.  Two of the team's losses were in extra ends.
