On June 16th, 2024, at approximately 1607 hours, Sarnia Police were dispatched to the area of Indian Road and Devine Street regarding a hit-and-run.
Officers arrived and spoke with an injured female in the care of paramedics. The 58 year old female indicated that she had been in a vehicle with a male driver. While driving, an argument arose during which time he pushed her out of the moving car at approx. 50kph. The victim suffered a dislocated knee and scratches. She was treated at hospital and later released.
Further investigation revealed the involved male to be a 62 year old resident of Sarnia.
On July 30 2024 at 7:10am, police were on the scene of an unrelated matter when an officer recognized him nearby. He was placed under arrest and transported to Sarnia Police Headquarters.
As a result of this investigation, the suspect has been held for bail on the following criminal charges:
- Assault
- Assault Cause Bodily harm
- Dangerous Driving
- Failure to Stop after Accident
The suspect was remanded into custody at his bail hearing.
