Police presence results in trafficking charge

On April 3rd 2025, at approximately 3:30pm, plain clothes officers (investigating a separate matter) observed three persons engaged in open-air drug use behind a business situated within the 500 block of Exmouth Street.  Police observed the parties smoking a substance that was identified as fentanyl. Further investigation revealed that one of the males present was responsible for supplying (trafficking) the fentanyl to other two individuals. Police seized a small quantity of fentanyl.  At the time of this offence, the make was subject to a Probation Order.  

Sean HELPS, 35 years of no fixed address, is charged with the following offences:

  • Trafficking a schedule one substance to wit: fentanyl contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Breach of Probation contrary to section 733.1 of the criminal  code

HELPS was held for bail hearing and remanded into custody.
