Re: ‘Money for SARNIA sign could have been better spent’
I am writing as I agree with Laurie Tremblay that $100,000 for a sign seems very extravagant given the times we are in. It shows how out of touch the 'have's' are to the plight of the 'have not's.'
How many mouths could that have fed? How many trees could have been planted? What about fruit trees to help feed people? What about funding needed programs at the many social service agencies who provide service to those with various needs in our community?
I don’t believe the sign is so exciting as to invite tourists to come and see it. If I am wrong though, tourism is not going to help the people who really need help.
Just my humble opinion.
