With heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and cousin, at the age of 64. Beloved father to Laura Provencher (Joe) and Joseph Provencher (Carly) and Papa Pete to Daimon, Darryn, Dahlia, Harley as well as Great Papa Pete to Zayne-Joseph. Cherished son of Henry and Mary Provencher, and dear brother to Marc Provencher (Sharon), Yvonne Falconer (Steve), Jocelyn Gresham (Eddie), Christine Provencher, Sharon Forder (Brad) and Lorraine Pihelgas (Ulo). His nieces and nephews will forever miss his loving interest in them, as we continue to gather as a family. Peter has many, many cousins that will also miss him on both the Provencher and Sheedy sides of our family. Peter also has many friends both in Blind River and Sarnia that will forever miss him.

Peter came into this world, described by his grandmother as the most beautiful baby she ever saw. He worked in sales since he was a very young

boy selling dew worms for bait at his parents’ hardware store in Blind River, followed by being an integral part of this family business. Growing up and into young adulthood, Peter loved playing Blind River hockey which lead to his position with the Blind River Beavers.

Peter’s passion, as many know, is music. As a toddler, Peter sang before he spoke. He will be remembered for his voice, his trombone and his beguiling bass beat. Peter and brother Marc are known to so many for their musical talent as they entertained us all with their bands “August” and the “Provencher Brothers Band”, with playlists including their own original music.

Peter’s long career in car sales in Sarnia gave him the chance to know many people and be a part of this community. His greatest joy was family, especially the times he shared with everyone; fishing trips, fish fries with Pete as the catcher and the fryer, getaways with siblings or just hanging by the shore, just to name a few.

The Provencher family will always be grateful to the staff at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Ontario for their compassionate care for Peter and his family at his side.

Please join us for a gathering to honour and celebrate the life of our brother and friend Peter at the Point Edward Ex-Servicemen’s Association in Point Edward, Ontario on Sunday September 15, 2024, from 1 pm until 4 pm.

A Celebration of Life and interment will take place in Peter’s hometown of Blind River, to be announced at a later date.
