On Saturday, December 23, 2023, Pierina Maria Porciello passed away peacefully with family by her side at her residence in Malton Village, Mississauga at 87 years of age.

Pierina was the beloved wife of her late husband, Antonio Porciello, a spouse of 56 years.

Loving mother to her children Tony, Pina (Samer), Bruno (Sandra), David (Karen) and Andrew (Linda). Pre-deceased by her son and daughters-in-law, Angelo, Mary and Velda

Adored grandmother of Stephen (Larissa), Michael, Selina (Mariusz), Tony Jr (Stacey), Amelia (Adam), Lucas (Jade), Jordan (Karol), Julius (Nika), David-Nicholas, Jakob (Victoria), Sarah, Amanda (Julian), and Andrew-Antonio (Alesandra). Great Grandmother of Christian, Lyra, Taylor, Samantha, Jordan, Owen, Cameron, Vida, Jack, and Ben.

No matter where Pierina went, she always dressed in class and elegance. Pierina always welcomed people into her home, and everyone was amazed by her beautiful gardens.

Pierina loved to cook and was considered a master class of rustic Italian cuisine. No one ever went home hungry from the Porciello house. If there ever was a beginning for the term “Farm to Table” it probably started at Porciello’s home with Pierina at the helm in the kitchen and Antonio as the farm keeper and forager.

Pierina was a ray of sunshine everywhere she went. She was always complimentary. She knew how to make you feel special. When she moved to Malton Village, we were concerned about her feeling at home. We would ask her, “How are you enjoying your new home?” and her response was, “Everyone likes me here, I don’t know why?” and then we would all have a laugh.

Pierina will be missed by her immediate family and anyone who took the time to meet this wonderful person. Her smile, her laugh and her quick response with humour… heaven will feel a little lighter with her in it!

A visitation will be conducted at Gilpin Funeral Chapel, 183 Broad Street, Parkhill, on December 28, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Scared Heart Church, located at 159 Ann St, Parkhill, on December 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Followed by a private family interment.

Those wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers are asked to consider The Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society or a charity of their choice. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.gilpinfuneralchapel.com
