It is with deeply saddened hearts that the family of John Wayne McCrabb announces his unexpected, but peaceful, final sunset passing on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at L.H.S.C. – University Hospital at the age of 78. Wayne will be missed by his loving wife Sandy of 56 years, daughter Shelly (Jim) Howard, grandsons Curtis and Joshua, his cousins from the Grandy side, especially the late Neal (Christine), their children John (Pam), Ron (the late Mona), Barb (Kevin) and the late Dave (Christen), brother Robert (Wendy) and nephews Ben and Tim McCrabb. Predeceased by his parents George and Anne McCrabb.
Wayne’s first sunrise was on April 16, 1946 in Noranda, Quebec. He was the proud owner of Sarnia Heating for more than 50 years, which he took over from his dad. Wayne enjoyed building, anything from homes to just having an idea to improve everything for everyone. Wayne had a deep passion for the outdoors, especially when it came to golf. He also had a particular fondness for water activities, often spending his time boating in his younger years. He loved cars and animals, no matter their size. Wayne was a people-person, always had a joke ready and he made a friend in everyone he met. Most importantly, he took care of Sandy and loved his family and friends deeply. Cremation has taken place. An intimate gathering will be held to celebrate Wayne’s life. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to charity of choice (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
