With deeply saddened hearts, we announce the passing of Theresia Kowcinak on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the age of 91. Loving mother of Susan (Steve) Easterby and Marrianne Whitefoot (Steve Morris). Cherished grandmother of Parker (Amie) Easterby, Warren Easterby and Emily Easterby. Treasured great-grandmother of Freya Easterby. Predeceased by her parents Theresa and Joseph Schiebel; sisters Eva Petrick and Rose White; and brothers Michael Schiebel and Joeseph Schiebel.
Theresia worked for most of her life as a secretary at Goodfellow Construction, Prestolite, and later Zellers. She enjoyed playing cards for fun and doing puzzles. Theresia was an extremely proud and accomplished Gardener. For six months of the year, it was her passion, making sure as the seasons changed, her garden continued to thrive. Theresia was known for her spectacular baking skills, gifting her family every Christmas with apple pies, fudge and date squares. Above all, Theresia loved her family and will be deeply missed.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, 1016 Colborne Rd., Sarnia, in Section J (use Michigan Ave. entrance) on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of Theresia’s life will follow at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, at 2:00 p.m.
