Delphine Bayne passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, with her beloved daughter and son by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Cameron (1999), her toddler brother Ronald, her dear brother Roy, and her sister-in-law Joan.
Delphine leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of her children, Karen Riggs (David) and Ron (Ann); her cherished grandchildren Jordan, Bryan (Jennifer), Jenna, and Alison; and her treasured great-grandchildren Liam and Madison. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Delphine worked for Bell Telephone for 10 years and was a dedicated member of the Women’s Auxiliary at Sarnia General Hospital for many more. She was passionate about curling, golf, and bowling, and found joy in every season of life.
She had a deep love for travel and took special joy in baking with her grandchildren—moments she held dear. Delphine shared over 80 years of friendship with a close-knit group of friends, whose companionship and shared memories meant the world to her.
Delphine had a sweet tooth, always having a box full of mini chocolate bars. Each day, she treated herself to just half of one.
In recent years, some of her happiest times were spent with her daughter Karen, sipping coffee while watching the ships pass beneath the Blue Water Bridge and along the St. Clair River. A bowl of potato chips was always ready at home for her son Ron, a small gesture that spoke volumes of her love and attentiveness.
Delphine cherished every moment with her family and made those around her feel truly loved. Her kindness, wit, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the nurses and personal support workers at Trillium Villa Nursing Home for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton would be gratefully appreciated (cheques only at the funeral home please). From April 28 to May 4, 2025, Tim Hortons will be having their Smile Cookie campaign, and all proceeds will be in support of the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton. Please enjoy a cookie in memory of Delphine.
Forever in our hearts.
